Dear Cody

So it has just struck me the past couple days what an amazing person I am married to. I just want to make it known how much he does for me and why I love him so much. Cody is the best person I could've ever married. He always encourages me to do my best and when I don't do my best, he is still there for me and doesn't ever stop believing in me. He goes out of his way for me everyday hands down whether by him cleaning the house, helping with the laundry, buying me little surprises when he has to run to the store to pick up something I forgot, or just calls to tell me hi. Last nite I was scared about moving but he helped me so much to see reality that yes it will be hard but we will always have each other and the Lord to rely on. There I was, a complete wreck about the situation yet he was never trembling like I was. He has such a strong testimony about everything and I love that because in a world like we live in, sometimes its the only true constant in our lives! On Sunday we hadn't prepared our lesson or anything for our class because we couldn't locate our book. Cody hurried and read through the lesson and gave such a good one. He did better at giving a lesson which wasn't even prepared than me who does prepare them. Kids just love him. All of his neices and nephews love when he's around because he takes the time to listen to them and play along in their make believe world. He works so hard for us and for our future family (thats not an announcement by any means). He has never missed any classes because he wants to stay on top of it. He gets amazing grades in all of his classes and all of his teachers like him. He knows what he wants and he knows how he's going to do it. Really nothing stops him even when I'm not there supporting him like I should. I love that he is responsible and is following his dream. I love that he someday he hopes to have a job that will provide enough so I can stay home...I can't wait...but if it never happens, I will still love him. I will always be by his side making our house a home and keeping the Lord in our relationship. I don't see how I could be with someone who is so selfless but somehow the Lord knew what I needed and Cody is perfect. He teaches me so much everyday and makes me laugh all the time.

So babe I guess really what I'm trying to say is that I love you so much and I will always be here for you. You're truly my best friend.

Love,
Danica

Couldn't Believe It

This past weekend my mom and dad came down to visit. I think I finally harassed them enough about never coming to visit that they felt guilty enough plus they had to deliver a puppy so pretty much someone had to pay them to come to Thatcher but hey, I'm just glad we got to see them. Now I have to convince them to help us move in July...yes in the dead heat. They'll be thrilled!
Anyways on with our day. First we said our hellos and they showed me my finished quilt! I loved it and it immediately went on the bed. We played with the puppies that they brought with them. Adorable. We delivered the puppy, went to lunch at La Casita (only the best) went to a fabric store where dad got his ear talked off by the little old lady working there. Me, Cody and my mom didn't mind though because it kept her occupied while we looked. We headed toward the furniture store but before getting there here's the conversation...
Mom: "I could really use a Dr. Pepper right now." ...a few seconds go by and dad never responds.

Mom: "a Dr. Pepper sure sounds good."

Dad finally says, "so what are you saying?"

Mom: "nothing nevermind" in her sad little voice trying to make dad just catch on that she wants to go to Sonic.

Cody: "Oh my gosh, I see where Danica gets it. That is exactly what she does."

Me: "I do not."

Cody: "Yes you do all the time!"

Cody and Dad at the same time: "Yeah why can't you just ask us what you want?"

Mom and Me: "Why can't you just know?"

Dad: "We're not....

Cody jumps in: "mindreaders!"

Mom and Me: "hahahahaha just laughing away"

I just thought it was so funny. Me and Cody are a younger version of my parents. Not even kidding!
Well we ended up getting drinks, went to the furniture store, went to our house watched a little TV so we could show them our TV and sound system. Mom liked the TV and dad loved the sound. I love my parents and all they do for us. I am so thankful they got to come down and visit and appreciate the long drive they took just for us...and the puppy money. :D

Thursday Nite Conversation

Last nite we went out to one of the local mexican food joints and had a good time other than the crap service that we had...yeah didn't even leave a tip. Somehow we got on the subject of babies. Not to be confused with us thinking of having any, just about how painful it must be. Well I don't think Cody realized he was talking out loud and he said, "why can't women just lay an egg (made a plopping noise), put it in the incibator, set it and forget it, come back 9 months later and wa-la!" I just started laughing. My husband and his genius ideas. I told him maybe one day he can have the say in how it all happens! haha. I'm sure he would tell the story much better but it just makes me laugh.

Red Knolls and the burnt Mansion

This past weekend we decided we weren't going to sit at home and be bums. We got up early Saturday, packed our lunches and made our way to Red Knolls to do some hiking and exploring. It was a beautiful day. It wasn't nasty hot! Red Knolls is basically a mound of clay...but cool. I know it doesn't look very big...but it is! There was a guy who was walking on the top and the clay broke and he fell clear to the bottom. Unfortunately it killed him so we were careful and didn't go up to the very top. Plus its high and I'm not a fan of heights!
Red Knolls
Me and my man
I know it looks like I'm missing an arm but I love the simplicity of the picture.
Just a cool shot as the sun is rising
Behind that smile, I was thinking, " Steady, Steady, Smile, Steady"
Checking out if there are any snakes.

Back in the 1800's there was a mansion built out in Eden. There are hot springs and what not. It used to be a very popular spot where even the Rolling Stones stayed but was shut down because they wanted the pools to be chlorinated...which would defeat the whole purpose of the resort! For years it has been abandoned but kids still sneek out there. I never did. The guard would shoot at any trespassers...probably in the air but anyways, it burnt down two Sundays ago and I had never seen it so Cody took me to where the turn off is just so I would know. When we got there, there was a man going in with a tractor to clean it up. He said he couldn't let us in but the owner would be there soon and we could ask him. So we waited. The owner let us in and we got to tour around. It was so cool!

This is the olympic size hot springs pool. That is just the pool house at the end of the pool.

I don't know what these are called but they had one. I guess you're supposed to "find yourself" in it? Some people...

This is another hot spring and it was smokin hot! It was such a cute little area.Another hot spring in shape of a guitar (I'm guessing it was requested by the rolling stones...I'm probably totally making that up!)Just another shot of the guitar...the circe kinda by my shadow is the spring where all that water comes from. This is an old circus cart. They had other random things out there but I loved it because it was all so old.

This picture is from the newspaper. It was absolutely beautiful and in such good condition! This is whats left of the mansion.

It really is too bad that this historical building burnt down and they suspect arson but who knows if they'll ever figure out by who.

It was nice to get out and see what the desert has to offer other than heat, snakes, gila monsters, spiders and scorpions. I loved exploring with Cody. He's a good little hiking buddy!

THIS IS OUR little HOME

I just thought I would post a few pictures of what our home looks like because not everyone (anyone?) has seen our home. So I'll bring it to you. A few weeks ago when we were in Show Low, I asked my mom why they never hardly came down and she said, "well Thatcher really isn't on the way to anything." I just said, "yeah just your last born...no big deal." I know my family is all busy and I also know that Thatcher ain't the most happenin' place so I understand.
The Kitchen were the ordering out...I mean cooking takes place.
The wall by the door...everyone compliments the blocks!
Above the book shelf
This is above the bed...obviously. Recently I changed our bed spread to the one Grandma made for us for our wedding.
Just another cute wall
The board in the kitchen that me and Kristen swapped.
Well there ya have it! Please come again, we enjoyed the company!

Better Late than Never...Valentines Day!

Ok for Valentine's Day we got to babysit and clean. Sounds exciting I know...but it wasn't. Cody bought me flowers and I bought him a shirt. We ordered take out from La Casita and watched a movie. Even though we were busy all day, it was still nice to be in his arms at the end of the day! I love my Cody!
